Irving Shaffino, a 15-year-old who lives in Shallowater, Texas, developed liver disease and had a liver transplant in July 2007.In a new and disturbing twist on the obesity epidemic, some overweight teenagers have severe liver damage caused by too much body fat and have even needed liver transplants.
